This additional property of the van Wyk family is a large country style house situated 9kms north of Papkuilsfontein, closer to Nieuwoudtville (14km away). The local typography is interesting: here three vegetation types and their respective geological formations converge, Renosterveld, Succulent Karoo and a Dolerite Sill.
The generous proportions of this typical Karoo-style farmhouse can comfortably accommodate 8 people in four on-suite bedrooms (one double and three twins). There are wall heaters in all the rooms and bathrooms, and electric blankets on the beds for the winter cold.
The spacious lounge with fireplace offers comfort and warmth in the evenings, for pre-dinner drinks, while the cosy sunroom on the east side of the house is a sunny breakfast setting. The house is built to provide cool shelter on hot summer days, and the wide veranda on the west side accessible from both dining room and kitchen, is ideal for watching the sunset.
The tariff includes a served breakfast and three-course dinner.
Relax in comfort at the De Lande Guesthouse, and enjoy access to the other fascinating attractions and activities on the farm Papkuilsfontein, including Fynbos walks, a visit to the canyon and waterfall, rock art, various mountain bike routes and of course more flowers (in season).
